Stuff!
The first race on the ABA calendar is coming up! We are confirmed at Race City and Strathmore for the time trial. Greg Yaniki is our race organiser and will be looking for volunteers soon! I, personally, may be in a delivery room that weekend.
Membership provides a lot of benefits with little asked for in return. Please volunteer or provide a volunteer or both!!!
There will be a couple of group rides leaving from various places this weekend. Sunday, I will be leaving Campione at 9:30 and heading to the Cabin for 10 for a 5 hour ride or so. Another group will be leaving Cadence Coffee at 10. A last group may be leaving from the south.
Cheers!!!
James Purdy

Mid-Week mayhem!!!!!!
See side panel for link to site!!!!!
Once again, we’re looking forward to a great season of Tuesday night criterium and cyclocross racing. Our season format will be same as last year -- 4 months of crit racing at the Research Park from May – Aug and 2 months of CX racing from Sept – Oct. Depending on weather and street cleaning, we hope to start on May 6 or 13. More details on start times and start date will be out soon via email and will be on our website at www.midweek-mayhem.ca.
Some important changes that everyone should be aware of …
1) Marshalling/Volunteering and $50 ‘buy out’ – We have an increased need for marshalling (up to 9 per race) to continue to ensure rider safety and as such will be requiring all members to sign up to marshal 3 races, OR pay a $50 volunteer ‘buy out’. The time commitment is minimal and members generally complete their commitment the same night they race.
2) On-Line Registration – To reduce administration at the race site we will be offering an on line registration/payment process. It will be $10 cheaper than registering at the race site and will ensure your registration process site will be quicker than in previous years. Registration details will be posted at www.midweek-mayhem.ca in the coming weeks and I will also provide an update via email.
3) Race Managers (and we’re still looking for a 3rd) – We have Dallas Morris returning and have recruited Madelaine Bate. Dallas and Madelaine will alternate from week to week. These are paid positions and we would still like to add a 3rd race manager. Please contact me via email at reid.cummings@shaw.ca if you are interested.
4) Board Involvement / Alberta Superweek – While we have all of our primary executive positions filled, we continue to recruit for new board members as we wish to continue to build this organization as well we want to make sure our involvement with Alberta Superweek is a success. If you have interest in becoming involved, please contact me via email at reid.cummings@shaw.ca.
5) Pricing – Because of some of the changes we’ve implemented and significant increases in City permit fees next year, we’ve increased our membership fees for 2008 as follows:
If you register and pay on line:
Crit Series (May – Aug) - $40
CX Series (Sep – Oct) - $40
Both Series (May – Aug) - $60
If you register and pay at the race site:
Crit Series (May – Aug) - $50
CX Series (Sep – Oct) - $50
Both Series (May – Aug) - $80
Volunteer/Marshall ‘Buy-Out’:
$50 – this is paid if you do not wish to marshal any races and/or do not sign up to marshal for 3 races.
Drop in fee (one night) and not subject to volunteer ‘buy out’ – pay at race site only:
$15

Rudy Project Ordering Instructions!!!
Go to www.e-rudy.com
Scroll to bottom of page, Click on: BATMAN
Or go directly: https://www.rudyprojectusa.com/b2b/ABK_Bro.htm
Your access key to your BRO account is: BiciSport
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Follow the link to the BRO homepage. Then enter the code provided above. Please remember that the code is Case Sensitive, I recommend using the copy and paste tool. If your code doesn't seem to be working, try adding a space bar after the code!
Please look around as the item you are searching for may be in 1 or 2 categories. The Sport Product page has all 2008 Helmets!
Remember your web site should be linked to www.e-rudy.com
In addition to information in your contract, here are a few reminders and other guidelines:
* Athlete/Team agrees to use sponsor's products and to promote sponsor in a positive light. Athlete/Team shall not obtain or promote any other sponsors that compete with Rudy Project Cycling Helmets, Eyewear or Goggles.
* As Ambassadors of Rudy Project, please familiarize yourself with our products and new 2008 line.
* As a Rudy Project Sponsored Athlete/Team, you are a representative of our company. One of your missions is to be an "Ambassador" for the brand. DO refer individuals interested in Rudy Project to our dealers or www.e-rudy.com to find a dealer, and if you know of a dealer that isn't carrying Rudy, please DO talk to them about becoming a Rudy dealer.
* Most importantly, please DON'T go into a dealer and pretend to be a consumer just to try on glasses, but DO identify yourself up front as a sponsored athlete/team member, ask if it is a convenient time to try on product, and DO introduce yourself to the manager and notify the shop you'd like to refer business to them.
* We couldn't succeed without you and/or our valued dealers, so the more we can help them and you can help them, the better. (Keep in mind that you will receive a $100 cash bonus if you refer a NEW dealer that opens an account with us and remains open for at least 6 (Six) months and is current on payments. You must submit information with the contact information of the dealer that is referred prior to opening to sponsorship@rudyprojectusa.com.)
* Athlete/Team agrees to participate in any referral programs. One of the requirements as an ambassador is to send inquiring minds into our retail locations. We will send details on a specific program that will be required this year as part of your sponsorship. Details to come!
* Athlete/Team agrees not to re-sell any products (any time, any place, anywhere including EBay), and understands that it is grounds for immediate termination of sponsorship. Products are non-transferable and intended for the use of the indicated athlete/team.
* Logo Placement - Athlete/Team agrees to display logo in an appropriate manner on their team jersey, bicycle, sunglass and/or helmet. Athlete/Team will not intentionally obstruct or remove logos from sponsored products.
* Rudy Project retains the right to use athlete/team members' images for marketing purposes.
* Athlete/Team will behave in an appropriate way. Rudy Project retains the right to terminate a sponsorship for behavior that is damaging to brand image. Drug violations will result in immediate termination of this agreement.
* Rudy Project will allow ordering of backordered items, but we encourage substitution or choosing "in- stock" items. Any item(s) placed on backorder will be charged at UPS ground when they ship.
* All products are dispersed at the sole discretion of Rudy Project. Rudy Project retains the right to request products back, either new or used, if any of the terms of our agreement is violated. Upon request, products shall be returned within 10 business days or the Athlete/Team will be invoiced for the full retail amount of all products received from Rudy Project.
* The discounts being offered to you are of a substantial value, and are intended solely for the sponsored athlete/team designated in the contract. This offer is non-transferable and the Athlete/Team agrees to keep all pricing and sponsorship details confidential. Disclosing this information or re-selling product is strictly prohibited and could result in an immediate termination of sponsorship.
* We prefer that all sponsorship questions be submitted via the designated email address. For questions and concerns, please email sponsorship@rudyprojectusa.com.
* Athlete/Team must send race reports and photos at least once a month to sponsorship@rudyprojectusa.com.
* All orders must be placed on a credit card.
Stuff!
Three things!
1. Rudy Project!
We are going to make one big order of Rudy stuff. Please let Sean Huggins-Chan know what you want!
shugginschan@yahoo.ca
2. Hammer Gel
I can get a deal for hammer gel product! I will let you know details as we have to make an order before the season starts!
3. Tucson Cycling Classic
Roy Quade is getting a group together to go to the Tucson Cycling Classic. The website for the three day stage race in Tucson on March 28,29 and 30th is www.tucsonbicycleclassic.com. It looks like a very good race and a good season
opener with relatively small fields (about 30 riders) in each of the various
categories, and reasonable distances for the time of year. The
logistics are certainly easier with more people.
Conact Roy if you are interested in going!
I am working at campione!!!
bicisport members get discounts at Campione! The amount of discount though is somewhat arbitrary since our markup is not huge. So have at er!!!
In addition, if you bring your bike in for a tuneup before February 29 get 25% off labour and the arbitrary discount off parts!
